Here at AFP, we do not just want to be your go to fruit supplier. We want to be much more. Over the years we have found a home in the brewing/alcoholic beverage industry which has been growing along with our company. We genuinely care about our customers and know how much dedication, persistence, and fiscal discipline that it takes to keep a production facility running. We know because we have been there too. We want to not only provide the best aseptic fruit purees and customer service. We want to be a source of information and learning for those who are new to the community of professionals in all facets of the brewing/alcohol beverage industry. We pride ourselves on giving an equal amount of attention to everyone, no company is too big or too small.
What is Aseptic? And what is the process?
Aseptic is defined as free from contamination caused by harmful bacteria, viruses, or other microorganisms. We use a pasteurization regime that is quick yet, thorough. We can all thank Louis Pasteur for that. We do a flash pasteurization at 194 degrees Fahrenheit for a window of seconds depending on the fruit. Unlike frozen purees that often leave behind harmful bacteria due to a longer pasteurization at lower temperatures. While this might work sometimes, it is a gamble most professionals are not willing to take.
Do I have to put this in the cooler or freezer?
Here at AFP, we realize that just about everyone’s cooler space is limited and most people do not have access to a deep freezer. Who wants to have to plan production around a fruit delivery and then wait for it to defrost, if it shows up on time? You can store AFP at room temperature for up to 18 months and use it when you are ready, not the other way around.
What do you add to your purees? Are they concentrated or reconstituted from concentrate?
Our tagline is “Magic from the Earth”. We do not add sugar or anything that is not natural to our purees, unlike some other fruit suppliers. We do not use concentrates, or anything reconstituted from concentrates. This is essentially just watering down concentrate to a single strength. Our purees might have more thickness or pulp but that is where the flavor is, that is the fruit. While it might be easier to use these other products your customers can tell the difference. Nothing worthwhile comes easy.
